Sexism Debate Rages on at Cannes 2012

The 65th Cannes Film Festival, which kicked off on 16th May 2012, has come under heavy fire from critics who have accused the festival of sexism. Of the twenty-two filmmakers whose work has been selected in competition this year, not one is female. This has sparked a very strong reaction, spearheaded by an opinion piece published on 12^th May in French magazine Le Monde.
